Church Closure Update
March 24, 2020
Dear Members and Friends of First Congregational Church:
Because of the “essential services and revised gathering order” advisory, the church staff will work from home. The pastors and our music director will tape services from the sanctuary. The service will be posted to the website and Facebook page on Sunday. The building will be closed to all activity. Our clergy can be reached at any time.
Please do not hesitate to communicate with us during this time.
Given these recent developments, we believe it is prudent to suspend all worship services at least through Easter. We will continue to review this schedule as more information becomes available. The clergy will record services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. They will be posted to the website and Facebook page.
Although email is the preferred method of communication all staff are equipped to receive recorded messages remotely. Please call the church office and leave a message as you normally would.
We encourage you to continue to support the church with your monetary contributions. You can mail a check to the church (First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA 01545) make an online contribution through the GIVE function on the website (www.fccsm.org
) or set up automatic bill pay to the church through your banking institutions.
We wish everyone in our community grace, mercy and peace during this challenging time. Thank you for being part of this community of faith.
In Christ’s love,
Lynne and Jim
