Missions and Outreach
Together as a church family we work together to address many needs in our surrounding community and the broader world. We work with partner organizations to address issues of hunger, homelessness, domestic violence, education, counseling, and the need for support and fellowship.
Children and Youth:
We offer a staffed nursery for children 0-4. Preschool and Kindergarten begin class at 9:15am on Sundays, 15 minutes before the start of worship. 1st grade through 4th grade as well as 5th – 8th (Middle School) meet in separate classrooms following the Children’s Message at the beginning of worship.
All our Sunday School classes follow theologically robust curriculums through the largest Christian Education publisher, Augsburg Press.

Visit the Children and Youth page for more detailed information about our programs for young people.
We believe in the importance of lifelong learning for Christians through continued exploration of the Gospel and our faith. We offer periodic adult study groups, a spirited book club, and occasional Sunday morning discussions.
Find out more on the Adult Faith Formation page.
Our church offers a vibrant ministry specifically for the women of our community. You will find numerous opportunities for study, worship, fellowship, and service. If you want to join other women in drawing more closely together as people of God, we invite you to join us. Come! “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”

Music and Music Education
The First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury has a long and proud tradition of music, both in our worship services and for other church and community events. Covering a wide variety of musical styles, our church music ministry is also one of the largest in both our denomination and region with close to 100 participants!
Our Music Ministry offers a wide range of opportunities for participants of all ages. Sing in a choir, ring bells, or play an instrument for one of our many musical groups. For further information, please visit the music page, contact the church office at (508) 845-7286, or email Curtis Smith, Director of Music.
There are a number of ways to get to know our welcoming community. First, each Sunday after the service there is a time for coffee/juice and conversation, which is a great way to meet others. In addition to this weekly Fellowship Hour, there are numerous other “fellowship” opportunities, including small group dinners, wine tasting, theater trips, pot luck meals, and golf group. Take a look at the Fellowship Opportunities page for more information or at our Calendar to see some upcoming events.
